Touchless Planning Automation on o9
Building on an existing o9 platform, Radiant introduced exception-based workflows and automated approval logic to move demand and supply planning toward a touchless model.
The Challenge
With Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and Multi-Echelon Inventory Optimization (MEIO) already live on the o9 platform, the client had a solid foundation in place. The next challenge was reducing the manual effort embedded across the planning cycle, which limited scalability as volumes and complexity grew. Radiant was engaged to enhance the existing setup and move the client toward a touchless planning process.
Our Approach
- 01
Audit the planning cycle
Reviewed the existing o9 Demand, Supply, and MEIO configuration to identify where manual planner actions were absorbing the most routine effort.
- 02
Build exception-based workflows
Introduced workflows that auto-generate and progress plans on their own, surfacing only genuine exceptions for planner review.
- 03
Add automated approval logic
Layered in approval logic and refined configurations across demand, supply, and MEIO so routine scenarios no longer needed manual sign-off.
The Results
Toward touchless, scalable planning
Built on an already-established o9 foundation to push the planning process further toward a touchless model that scales with growing volumes and complexity.
Less manual intervention
Freed planners to focus on exception management and strategic decisions rather than routine plan processing.
Faster planning cycles
Automated workflows and approval logic shortened the time from plan generation to action, deepening the return on the existing o9 investment.
