AOP Planning and Commitment Tracker
An AOP planning and commitment tracking tool for factory savings across manufacturing and procurement giving the finance organization a single, consolidated view of committed savings across categories and initiatives.
The Challenge
The client's North America operations organization ran cost reduction initiatives as part of its AOP commitment to finance across procurement and operations. The initiatives cut across procurement, one-time negotiated supplier savings and design changes leading to manufacturing or part cost reductions. However, the launch of these initiatives as well as the continued savings from these initiatives over the committed year were tracked in scattered spreadsheets maintained by different category teams and/or manufacturing sites. Leadership had no consolidated, trustworthy view of initiative launch or savings performance, and pulling together a status report took manual effort every time and was quite error prone.
